The Audio Ombudsman

Welcome to Audio-Ombudsman.com!

My goal in beginning this site is to create a resource for those who love audio! This site will contain my personal and honest reviews of audio products. To begin, headphones and IEMs will take center stage with a stretch goal of expanding into other audio products. I will be posting “Elements of Electronics” to answer complex audio questions. As an electrical/computer engineer and musician, I bring a unique viewpoint to audio products.

I define an Audio Ombudsman as someone who honestly reviews audio products and explains how audio products function with a quantitative and skeptical viewpoint. So please post your thoughts and engage with me on this site!

Do you love headphones, but struggle to find informed and honest reviews?

In what cases do you need an amplifier?

What is the difference between a tube amplifier and solid state amplifier?

What is a crossover circuit for speaker systems?

Do I need a dedicated DAC? Oh, and what even is a DAC?

I will be answering these questions and more as this site grows. If you would like to see content as it is posted, check back every Sunday night for new content!

What are my qualifications?

I have 10+ years of electronics experience, and currently works as an electronics engineer full-time. I believe this qualifies me to discuss complex electronics topics as they relate to audio (amps, dacs, etc).

I have also been an avid headphone collector for 10+ years, and have owned a wide variety of headphones from more common brands such as Bose and Sennheiser, to more niche and obscure brands like Campfire Audio and Noble. I believe I can provide valuable reviews of audio equipment to help you find audio products that are the best fit for you.
